When we subtotal data in Excel it can be difficult to distinguish the totals from the data. Here is any easy technique that might help.
Here are steps:
- You take your data and you use the Subtotals command to add the subtotals.
See: Search Help Topic HP10079192 - You then click the level 2 button to display only the subtotals
- Select the range of subtotals
- 2007: Go to the Home tab, Click Find&Select (at the far right end of the Home Tab), Select Go To Special, select Visible Cells only.
2003: Go to Edit menu, Go To, Click the Special button, select Visible cells only
Tip: Don’t take the selection of the cells.
Shortcut: Function key F5 works to get you to special also in both versions.
- Apply the formatting of choice to those cells.
- Then Click level 3 button to confirm.
